Beach Grass Cafe

Service was very good, our waiter took the time to look up ingredients in the gluten free pancake, which by the way, was very good. I had the lemon ricotta and blueberry pancake. I would have given 5 stars except I didn't taste any lemon at all, I asked waiter about it and he said they put some lemon rind in the mix. The coffee was very good and my friend who ordered the gluten free pancake was real good.

Service, food, and atmosphere is always great! I eat here with my girlfriend several times a month and it's become our go-to for breakfast.

My regular breakfast cost half of this and the place looks like a million bucks. I think Beach grass needs some updating to give it the final touch. The food was very good!

Cozy little spot right near the beach. Many great food options including the best gluten free pancakes I've had so far. Breakfast served all day. They also sell homemade Mango Marmalade and Peanut Butter with Cashews in jars to go. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor seating. They even have water bowls available for our best friends. Expect a bit of a wait tho as this is a popular spot.

Beach Grass Cafe is a nice place for an early morning breakfast or brunch. Located in Solana Beach, it has easy access to the beach, plenty of free parking (don't forget to look around back), the service is gracious and the food, fresh. I usually get breakfast, but this recent visit, I got the Cuban sandwich. On a 1-5, it was a 4. My wife has a salad with shrimp. It was a 4.5. While it won't win any awards for uniqueness, or "really outstanding dish," all in all, a pretty fine place to eat!

Great spot for lunch. The dishes were affordable and had good flavor: we had chicken and fish tacos and both were great. The service was quick and attentive, although it was not busy when we were there for lunch around noon.

Love this place! If you're in Solana Beach, make sure you go to Beach Grass for breakfast. I love the scrambles, and the the maple bacon pancakes.

If maple, bacon & cheddar pancakes sound strange to you, this place will change your mind. From the specialty items like that to the standard fare, everything is wonderful on every visit. If I had one complaint, it would be the wait time during peak hours, but that's just a sign of how many people know it's worth a little patience.

Came for a midday mimosa on a quiet weekday. Knowing the mega size of the drinks there, I hit up Beach Grass to get the courage to ask out a girl who works next door. The liquid courage worked and I felt good. Bad news was that the office next door was closed. Til next drink!

Great food and very nice place. I recommend they change some of the seats and repair the table edges that are sharp and cracking from use. Service was very nice and highly recommend the blue corn pancakes, better than buttermilk by far!

Very delicious food. The portion sizes are large. The food tastes homemade and satisfying. The ingredients are fresh. Menu is fantastic, with lots of breakfast and lunch options and pots of delicious comfort food. I recomend the Cubano sandwich, the Chicken Sandwich, the Turkey Melt, and the Chicken Salad. Breakfast is served all day. Inside and outdoor seating available. Service is excellent. Owner and servers are courteous, friendly, and professional. Great location, walking distance from the beach (Fletcher's Cove in Solana Beach) and on the historic highway 101. Street parking and a private parking lot behind. I highly recommend

Great breakfast blueberry pancakes. They are one of the rare ones that has a bottle of syrup on the table instead of a little side serving. Nice & quick!

On a scale 10, Beach Grass Cafe is a 99.After 10 years of not being there I walked in and the lovely lady who greeted me said "Long time no see". My Son and his Wife were in town and we met there as we used to years ago. It was awesome!!!

The coffee is excellent, they have gluten free options and the food is fresh and delicious. I make a point to come here whenever I'm in the area! The owner is always here, staff is friendly and happy. Dog friendly patio.

Great pancakes.

The food is top notch. Traffic getting there sucks and the prices are on the high side but they treat you right . There food is so outstanding it makes up for the negatives.

Simple cafe but amazing experience! Food and service was top notch. My husband got one of their breakfast hash dishes and I got the polenta with sausage and eggs. Too full to finish the lemon blueberry riccota pancakes we got to share but they were delicious too!

This restaurant stands out as far as breakfast places go, each item on the menu is well thought out- we have taken many people here and everyone is impressed. The pancakes are have great texture and flavor, And the entrees are more interesting than the standard meh breakfast joint.

Waited 15 min for a table on a Sunday morning, but it was worth the wait. The coffee was very good and the omelets and pancakes were great. Interesting menu that all looked good. There is indoor and outdoor seating available.

Love this little cafe in Solana Beach. Their lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes and the pancakes with pears and marshmallow are great. They have gigantic muffins with homemade jellies and some good egg dishes.
